A VERY cool after-Christmas toy
December 29th, 2008 | by Sol |
Just yesterday I joined MindWare’s mailing list and I got an ad from them a little while ago. They’ve got a clearance sale going on for a Skyrail Suspension Marble Run, touted as “The World’s Largest Marble Run!” for $29.95 plus shipping. I ordered two, one for my nieces and the other for me!
Here’s the description from MindWare’s website:
Our huge, top-quality marble run from Italy is over 5 feet wide and 3 feet tall, with adjustable suspension cables to easily raise or lower the tracks. Kids have to reason and experiment to construct a system that safely delivers the marbles to the bottom; after that, the challenge lies in building speed to the eye-boggling max! 310 pieces, including 12 marbles and 36 feet of glow-in-the-dark track.
Recommended Ages: Ages 8 and up
I looked around a bit and believe that, at half off, this is a great price for what I think will be a great toy for kids of all ages. If you’re interested, do place your order soon before they run out. Note: Although I’ve applied to join MindWare’s affiliate program, I am not currently an affiliate and do not get a commission for my enthusiastic recommendation. I will make it clear when I am an affiliate.

Wow, that looks like fun. It’s a nice science toy. Mayebe I’ll get one for my classroom.

I love the marble run! We have one (I think also from Mindware, although it’s not the suspension set) and it’s gotten a lot of use.
What I think would be fantastic is a science class (not sure what level) made up largely of toys like this: marble runs, plants, electronic kits. Wouldn’t that be great?
